Application Guidelines for Specific Crops
MycorrPlus is the new name for GroPAL Balance TM
Broadcast in a 20 gal./acre tank mix, or 40+ gal./acre if no rain is expected for a few days. A 10 gal./acre tank mix (or 3 gal. with a plane) may be used if within 24 hours rain or irrigation water carries it in, or if it is worked into the ground. MycorrPlus needs at least an inch of soil moisture before it will really take off in the soil. Organic growers, MycorrPlus-O may be used in place of MycorrPlus-A.
Herbicide or other chemical apps.
If an herbicide or other chemical application is needed, wait 3 or more days after the application and then apply 16 to 32 ounces of MycorrPlus-A per acre. If ongoing chemical applications are being made, you can apply 32 ounces of MycorrPlus-A per acre once a month. DO NOT apply MycorrPlus in the same tank mix as herbicides.
Pasture
MycorrPlus does a great job on pastures. Apply MycorrPlus-A or O once a year, any time of year. Standard application for pastures is 1 quart per acre. For quicker results, apply 64 ounces per acre.
Grass hay
Apply 1 to 2 quarts per acre of MycorrPlus-A or O. If nitrogen is needed the first year, it is best to use 28% or 32%, or manure. Along with a yearly soil application, for even better results apply 2 quarts per acre of MycorrPlus-F (MycorrPlus-O-F for organic) as a foliar application 7 to 10 days after cuttings.
Alfalfa
MycorrPlus is wonderful for strengthening the root structure and thickening up Alfalfa. Apply 1 to 2 quarts of MycorrPlus-A or O per acre. A great time to apply is in the fall, winter or spring.
- (optional foliar application) 10 to 15 days after each cutting (when there is sufficient leaf for a foliar application), apply 2 quarts per acre of MycorrPlus-F or O-F as a top-dress/foliar application.
Soybeans
MycorrPlus promotes a huge root structure, which can result in more pods and filled out pods. MycorrPlus is a world-class inoculant that can produce excellent nodulation; no other inoculant should be needed besides MycorrPlus. However, other inoculants may be mixed in with it if desired.
For increased yields, apply 2 quarts per acre of MycorrPlus-F foliar application (or 3 qts. O-F for organic) at flower. If the beans are looking good, you may want to apply a second foliar application 3 to 4 weeks later.
Corn
A top-dress/foliar application of 2 qts. MycorrPlus-F or O-F may be put out at tassel with a 10 gal./acre tank mix. This can help increase test weight, protein, RFV and yields. O-F may be put out with a fast run of the sprinkler.
Winter wheat, spring wheat, small grains
Broadcast 1 to 2 qts. of MycorrPlus-A or O around planting time. Use just 1 qt./acre when applying with a drill or in the row. For winter wheat, if you want to apply it in the spring, then apply early spring. To boost yields, a top-dress/foliar application of 2 quarts MycorrPlus-F may be made at flag leaf (or 3 qts. MycorrPlus-O-F for organic).
Cotton
Do NOT mix MycorrPlus-A with any chemical except 28% or 32% nitrogen; cut back 30% on the N.
For increased yields, the following applications may be made during the growing season.
Peanuts
Do NOT mix MycorrPlus-A with any chemical except 28% or 32% nitrogen.
For increased yields, a foliar application of 2 quarts of MycorrPlus-F may be made every 4 weeks during the growing season.
Although MycorrPlus may be mixed with an inoculant, MycorrPlus is a world-class inoculant that can produce excellent nodulation, so MycorrPlus should be the only inoculant you need.
Potatoes, sugar beets, rutabaga, other root crops
In the fall, winter or early spring, apply 2 quarts of MycorrPlus-A to help prepare the soil for a good crop.
Apply a qt. in-the-row, or broadcast 1 to 2 quarts around planting, and/or after an herbicide application.
Fruit and nut trees
In the summer or fall, broadcast 1 to 2 quarts per acre of MycorrPlus-A to an area twice the diameter of the tree. For best results, get out the first application as soon as possible, any time of year that the ground is not frozen. The sooner it is applied, the sooner it can go to work transforming the soil.
In the spring, once the tree has some good leaf coverage, apply one or more foliar applications of MycorrPlus-F. Apply 2 qts. per acre with a 20 gallon/acre tank mix. Use MycorrPlus-O-F for tank mixes over 20 gal./acre. When 4 or more foliar applications are planned, divide up to 2 gallons of MycorrPlus-F by the number of applications.
Grape vines
MycorrPlus can be very helpful for maintaining neutral soil pH. Apply 2 quarts of MycorrPlus-A per acre (1 ounce for every 600 sq. ft.) This application may be made in the fall or early spring. In the spring, once the vines have some good leaf coverage, one or more foliar applications of MycorrPlus-F may be made. Apply 2 quarts per acre per application. If 4 or more foliar applications are desired, divide up to 2 gallons of MycorrPlus-F by the number of desired applications.
Sod farms
MycorrPlus-A works quite well to increase root structure and thicken up grass. Once the sod has been harvested, apply 2 quarts MycorrPlus-A to the soil. If desired, apply another 32 ounces of MycorrPlus-A each month.
Blueberries and other acid loving plants
MycorrPlus helps to balance pH, so at this time we are not recommending it be used for acid loving plants.

Please loosen the lid of MycorrPlus right away to allow it to vent, to prevent the build-up of pressure.
Do not store in direct sunlight. Store below 120o F. and preferably below 100o F.
MycorrPlus-A and MycorrPlus-O (for organic use) are for the soil, not the leaf. Their strength lies in their ability to transform the soil. For best results, don’t consider MycorrPlus foliar until you have utilized a full 64 ounces of MycorrPlus-A or MycorrPlus-O. Apply MycorrPlus by itself, or with fish, kelp, 28% or 32%. Add MycorrPlus to tank first. Add water before adding fish or kelp. Always jar test.
MycorrPlus-A or O may be applied spring, summer, fall or winter
The amount of MycorrPlus that can safely be applied
It is almost impossible to hurt the soil by over-applying MycorrPlus. However, applying more than a gallon/acre in one application may possibly burn the leaves of the plant.
Overcoming application difficulties
Although MycorrPlus contains zinc that acts like a sunscreen to protect its microbes from the sun, precautions should still be put into place. Here are ways to protect MycorrPlus microbes.
MycorrPlus must reach the soil to transform the soil. If not worked in, it must be watered in. Once it gets to the soil, just over an inch of moisture is needed to get the formula really working.
It really helps to keep the soil covered. For exposed soil, the sun dries out the soil, plus it kills microbes that are closer to the surface.
Phosphorus, potassium and MycorrPlus
The average acre of farmland has 4,500 lbs. of tied up phosphorus, plus a major component of clay is potassium. The microbes in MycorrPlus help to make these available to the plant, which can save farmers a LOT on fertilizer. Potash may be needed for some vegetables, or for other crops where potassium levels are low in the region.
In most cases, when MycorrPlus is active in the soil, no additional phosphorus should be needed, even for corn. Normally phosphorus is not mobile in the soil, but mycorrhizal fungi in MycorrPlus are able to transport phosphorus from deep in the soil back to the roots. Soil tests are normally only done for the top layer of the soil, but for most soils, mycorrhizae are bringing nutrients from far deeper than 6”. Therefore, a tissue analysis is the best way to verify that the plant has plenty of phosphorus, potassium and other nutrients.
Nitrogen applications
MycorrPlus contains nitrogen-fixing bacteria, but it takes 4 to 5 months for them to really start working. If you normally apply nitrogen, some N may be needed until the nitrogen-fixing bacteria have a chance to really kick in.
For corn and other crops that require a lot of N, you may need some nitrogen each year. MycorrPlus helps to hold nitrogen and keep it from wicking off, leaching out or getting tied up. When a fall, winter or early spring application of MycorrPlus has been put out, or when it is mixed in with 28% or 32%, most farmers can cut back on nitrogen 30% the first year, and more the second year. Anhydrous ammonia is very hard on the soil. To help overcome this, apply a quart of MycorrPlus-A two weeks or more after applying anhydrous ammonia.
Herbicides and MycorrPlus
Timing of applications
Most of the time, when putting out the first-ever application of MycorrPlus, it is best to apply it as soon as possible so it can start its work of transforming the soil. Here are a couple of exceptions:
MycorrPlus Foliar Application Rate Guidelines
MycorrPlus-F and O-F Foliar / Top Dress Fertilizer
Bucket price: Two quarts/acre of F is $18/acre, and 3 quarts/acre of O-F is $23.10/acre.
MycorrPlus-F or O-F are best applied at fruit set; it may also be applied when the plant is beginning to flower.
MycorrPlus-A or O applications for areas smaller than an acre
One teaspoon of MycorrPlus-A is perfect for 100 square feet in a gallon or more of water.
May be applied with a watering can or a hose end sprayer. For a pump-up sprayer, add 1 tsp. per quart of water.

MycorrPlus is a highly concentrated bio-stimulant that can help with all of the above. The more aggressively you transform your soil, the more quickly you can see the above benefits. Here are your application options for corn.
Entry Level application
If you will only be making one application of MycorrPlus, do one of the following:
1 qt./acre of MycorrPlus-A in the row, on the seed or banded over the row.
If this is not an option but side-dressing is, side-dress 1 to 2 quarts with or without 28% or 32% nitrogen. Consider decreasing N to 80 to 90 lbs. to grow 200 bushel of corn.
If you can’t do one of the above methods, broadcast 1 to 2 qts./acre at or before planting.
Secondary applications you can choose from
If you want to do more than the entry level application, do one or more of the following:
